Hong Kong - Flower Market

The minute I woke up that morning, I was so ready to go to the Flower Market, which is near Prince Edward station. After having not so great buffet breakfast alone, I double-checked my travel notes, camera, and cash, as I usually am clumsy and absentminded. Then I was off to the colorful market, where I-don’t-know-the-name-flowers, blossoms, houseplants were for sales. I really envy to people who could wake up in the morning by breathing the scent of the flower. Anyway, apart from confusing two MTR stations that morning, I really had a great time: no one told me, judged me, looked down on me for taking pictures sans buying, lol. Most important of all, that day will be one of take a trip down memory lane. Well, right now wake up and smell the coffee!!!

Siam Ocean World - Rainforest

It will always be my deepest joy to watch the fish whether in a tank or in an ocean. One particular acquaintance asked me why I go to Siam Ocean World quite often, as she doesn’t get a feel of that place. Then I was relieved to hear other acquaintance answering that question: “It is quite simple, I love watching the fish, so I go there whenever I can.” There, that’s what I feel and I am glad to know that I am not alone. May be the feeling stems from my childhood desire: I always wanted a fish tank, and never got one. Now I can have them literally and don’t have to take care of them, isn’t it great? Although I got scared of spider one big time in Rainforest at Siam Ocean World, it is actually one of my favorite zones. Why? Fish, fish, fish and well, a coffee shop, where I can craze for cappuccino, mocha, latte or ice cream with a reasonable price.

Siam Ocean World - Living Ocean

Some people say the following creatures from “Living Ocean” freaky and extraordinary, and some people don’t even give a damn to look closely at them due to their strange form, which is in fact their only chance to stay alive in the ocean.

Siam Ocean World - Weird and Wonderful

Unlike last year, Siam Ocean World comes up with new promotions for membership application. A membership fee of 1,500 Bahts/ person covers Unlimited visits for 12 months, and different discounts on 4D, guests’ admissions, Food and Beverage, etc. Family package of 4,000Bahts/per year seems quite reasonable deal for family or friends, as we can get 4 cards and thus, the membership fees go down to 1,000 Bahts/ person. The following pictures are taken at Weird and Wonderful Zone of Siam Ocean World, where we can see the bizarre aquatic creatures.

Street vendor Style Fried Rice and Mme Tussauds in Bangkok

Last time I had fried rice would have to be 6 days ago from a street vendor, whose hospitality did supersede the dish’s flavor. Provided that I still have some leftover vegetables and meat, and always lazy to cook a lot of dish for a meal, I decided to try fried rice based on that street vendor recipe. Preparation and cooking didn’t take time and the end result is good enough for me.

1. Pan fried onion, garlic, chopped chili, meat, shrimp, and vegetables.

2. Actually I should have added egg after onion and garlic, then add the rest.

3. Finally added the rice and fried for 2-3 minutes.
“Madame Tussauds”, the world favorite wax museum, will open its 10th attention in Bangkok @ 6th Floor Siam Discovery in December 2010. The tentative opening date is 6th December, and will open daily from 10 am. to 9 pm. For the moment, if we buy one ticket, we can get one ticket free and the ticket are sold at Siam Discovery Floor G, Siam Center, Siam Ocean World, and every branch of Thai ticket major counter or at www.thaiticketmajor.com

I Love You Phillip Morris

This is just another film I love of funny and daring, I might say, Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. I like how an accident change a man's life and let him be his true self: being gay. The rest of the story? You can find out here.

ทั้งรักทั้งเหนื่อย from 365 วันแห่งรัก

This song is from a drama series or my guilty pleasure for every Wed-Thurs night airing from channel 3.

Basil chicken and Harry Potter ticket sales

This one dish is like satisfaction guaranteed food in Thailand; when you don’t know exactly what you want to have for lunch or dinner, you just order Chicken or meat of your choice with basil. I normally cook them at home since it is easy, and more importantly, I can add any vegetables of my choice in that dish.

Preparation? Mince garlic, chili pepper, chop up onions, cut the long beans, baby corn and clean and pick the “HOLY BASIL” leaves from the stem.  Fry the minced garlic, chili and onion in oil until they turn brown and add ground chicken and stir them for a minute or two. During the process, add oyster sauce, fish sauce and no sugar for me. Then start adding the vegetables, and finally add holy basil leaves. I always serve this dish with fried egg, and fish sauce.

By the way, tickets for Harry Potter 7 Part 1 are available @ Paragon Cineplex since last week. It will start showing from Thursday, 18th November in Thailand, and you can get a small poster if you buy them now.

Krabi

Apart from taking photos, my other habit during almost every trip is to write down all our expenses as I fail to recall them most of the time. Here is what I found when I was rearranging some documents: Krabi trip expenses from exactly 3 years ago.

Package       14,000 Bahts
Dinner            1,100 Bahts
Day trip          3,600 Bahts
Dinner                160 Bahts
Lunch                 150 Bahts
Airport transfer 400 Bahts
Drinks                   40 Bahts

The package tour includes 2 nights hotel stay @ Maritime Park & Spa Resort, Krabi and round trip tickets BKK-Krabi-BKK for two persons. Day trip costs 1,800 Bahts per person, and airport transfer is from hotel to airport only. My dear friend "Air" picked us up on arrival day and even mentioned we were the only two black heads in the crowd.

Bird Nest collectors
The next day, we went for a trip to Phi Phi Lei Island, Bamboo Island and Maya Island for sight seeing by speedboat.

Way to Maya Island

@ Maya Island

The tour includes transfer, lunch, Mask and Snorkel, and English speaking guide. The van from the tour picked up us @ 8:15 a.m and reached to pier around 9 a.m. From that moment, everything was fuzzy, as I got seasick.

Fish feeding @ Andaman Sea

The whole day was fun, but while the other people from the same boat were busy taking pictures of themselves, swimming, and snorkeling, I was mostly trying to keep myself in good shape. Anyway, I still have some snap shots and will never forget the beautiful image of the Andaman sea, the fish, and the Islands.
