It was such a great morning as I had a chance to eat my favorite food, well, a noodle soup with fried dough (in picture) and coffee. I couldn’t ask for more food after such a big breakfast, which I still miss by the way, from a shop near the inn we were staying at Shangri-la (Yunnan province). Our little jaunt started just after our stylish guide came to pick us up at the breakfast joint. Actually, I didn’t expect to see the mountain top village to be that beautiful. If you ever happen to be in Shangri-la in Yunnan province, 300 years old Songzanlin Monastery, situated in the high altitude region over 3,300 meters, is a must-see sight. I would say the best time to visit there is either spring or summer: we went there in one rainy season and it was very cold, wet, and thus very difficult to take pictures, lol!!!
