A few days ago, I read a post, which reminds me of my sister by the way, in this blog. My sisters always love to eat that and I guess it runs in the family. So I got the idea of eating that at home with cooked chicken chunk, and asked my significant other to buy roasted chicken from one of 5 dao franchised shop. I chose to eat that chicken as I got lazy, that’s one good reason and don’t really like the boiled chicken. And sometimes I wonder why I can never be thin, stupid, ain’t I? I did fry those masala vadas using Mhwe mixture, with thinly sliced onion, and chili, but without mint or coriander, just because I don’t have them that day. There you have it, my food craving number 1 during these days and at least you should give me some credits for try to cook something at home.
Actually I couldn’t finish that chicken in one meal and kept the leftover for the next day. Then I figured I could mix that with fried potatoes with a little bit of light soya sauce, oyster sauce and voilà, my food craving number 2. To accompany with the chicken, I made samber soup, by using sambar mix that I got from Mustafa. I did not follow the directions from the pack, as it doesn’t mention putting oil in the soup, lol! In a cooking pan, add a bit of oil, along with onion, garlic, ginger, coriander seed, jeer seed, dried chilies, and sautéed them until fragrant. Then add boiled water, already soaked dahl powder with cold water, tamarind paste and let it boil for a while. Finally add vegetables of my choice and here is my vegetables sambar soup.
As you may have already guessed, my food craving number 3 is fried chicken wing, which I marinated with just a pinch of salt and pepper and when it is nicely brown and cooked, sprinkled them with black pepper over the top. It was simply and yet delicious snack of all time for me.
